Project Description:

Enhancements to the airport’s baggage handling system (BHS) will add redundancy to the conveyor system and will implement improvements in key areas to reduce the number of bag jams and increase the efficiency of outbound baggage screening. Work includes adding redundant conveyors in the baggage inspection area and baggage makeup area, programming upgrades, and finally providing TSA testing and final commissioning. Once complete, the project is expected to increase the number of bags processed per minute from 25 to 32 and improve recovery time by 50 percent when there is a bag jam.
