The runways at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport are closed at this time due to icy conditions. Airlines have cancelled morning flights to and from the Airport. Officials will continue to monitor the runway surface conditions and will reopen the runways only when it is safe to do so.
Because of hazardous road conditions, travelers are urged to check with their airlines directly for latest the information on cancellations before heading to the airport. The airport terminal remains open, however there are limited food and beverage options available.
Additionally, the elevated departures ramp is closed at this time because of ice accumulation. All traffic is being diverted to the bottom arrivals ramp.
The safety of our travelers is our top priority. We will continue to provide updates on the operations as soon as they become available.
