Air Canada today announced the
launch of nonstop service between Toronto, Canada and New Orleans.
The new daily nonstop to New Orleans
will begin October 30, 2010 with a Canadair CRJ-705 which seats 75
passengers. The flight will depart Toronto at 9:50am and arrive in New
Orleans at 12 noon with a 12:35pm departure from New Orleans and arrive in
Toronto at 4:20pm.
"We are pleased with Air
Canada’s decision to return to the New Orleans market,” stated Iftikhar Ahmad,
Director of Aviation for Armstrong International Airport.
Mayor Mitch Landrieu stated, "This new flight by Air Canada underscores the
airlines' confidence in our world class market. Another international
flight will generate new international tourists, so we are pleased to welcome
this flight to our expanding service."
Air Canada offers up to 141 scheduled flights each day to 53 U.S.
destinations from its hub in Toronto. In total, this summer Air Canada will
operate up to 230 flights per day from six points in Canada and 58 destinations
in the U.S. In addition, this summer Air Canada is also serving 30 domestic and
45 international destinations from Toronto.
