The New Orleans Downtown Heliport is conveniently located on top of the parking garage next to the Louisiana Superdome in the heart of the Central Business District. It is surrounded by first class hotels, the New Orleans Centre, New Orleans City Hall, and adjacent to the Superdome. This facility is only five minutes (by taxi) from the Convention Center, French Quarter, or Jackson Square. It is operated by the New Orleans Aviation Board and is committed to providing a safe, professional, and state-of-the-art facility. The heliport is vital to the long term growth and economic health of the New Orleans area.

The New Orleans Downtown Heliport (7N0) is open to helicopter traffic at all times, however, the terminal building is only attended from 0700 (7AM) until 1900 (7PM) Monday through Friday for aircraft fueling. The terminal is open after normal business hours and is available for passengers waiting for Departures or Arrivals.  Use extreme caution when approaching the helicopter especially when the rotor system is turning.  FOLLOW SIGNALS FROM THE PILOT!

The staff of the New Orleans Downtown Heliport is trained to advise incoming/departing aircraft of other traffic and to give advisory service to the parking of helicopters.  The staff is also trained in the use of fire fighting equipment located at the Heliport.  There is also a direct link to the New Orleans Fire Department Dispatcher for assistance if needed.

The Heliport is inspected annually by the Louisiana Department of Transportation (Aviation Division).

The Heliport is managed by Mr. Wallace Dickerson who reports to the Airport Director.
