Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of
forty-five (45) calendar days after the bid opening. The right is reserved by the Owner to accept
or reject any and all bids for just cause without compensation to the
Bidders. The Contract awarded under this
Bid will obligate the Contractor and sub-contractors not to discriminate in
employment practices and be subject to the Equal Opportunity clause included in
this contract.
PROJECT:
The Work of the Project is defined by
the Contract Documents and consists of the following:
This project is intended to provide
new 8 feet high chain link security fence to replace existing fence. A portion of the new fence includes 2 feet of
fence buried in the ground (for a total height of 10’ of fabric) to prohibit
underground access to the airfield of animals. This will benefit the airport by providing
improved security. This project will
contain demolition of existing fence. The
contractor will be required to maintain a security fence barrier at all
times. All contractors and
subcontractors working on this project will need to have certain portions (if
not all) of the workforce possessing security badges to access the work area.
FUNDING:
The
funding for this contract is to be federally assisted, but contract award is
contingent on the availability of funds.
The Contractor must comply with the Anti-Kickback Act, Davis Bacon Act,
Disadvantage Business Enterprise, Civil Rights Act, Buy American Act, Lobbying
and Influencing Federal Employees, Equal Employment Opportunity Act, Contract
Work Hours Standard Act and all other federal requirements set forth in the bid
documents.
DBE GOAL:
The New Orleans Aviation Board has
established a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation goal of at least
26.67% on this contract.

PRE-BID
CONFERENCE:
A mandatory
Pre-Bid Conference will be held in the Aviation Board Room on the mezzanine
level, above Concourse C, at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International
Airport on Wednesday March 28, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. (Bring parking tickets to the
Conference, as Garage parking tickets will be validated).
